My Story
My name is Johanna, I am 29 years old and I live in the southernmost part of Germany, close to the border to Austria in the beautiful foothills of the Alps. I am a passionate teacher and have already gained a lot of experience in various teaching contexts.
After completing my teacher studies at university, I first worked as a Montessori teacher and later as a primary school teacher and learning therapist.
I have always been passionate about languages and international exchange. I therefore soon decided to take a one-year further training course at the Goethe Institute Germany and successfully completed the course as a certified German teacher with the result “Very good”.
How it Started?
I have two small children myself and have been a host mum to au pairs for some time. This cultural exchange programme brings young adults from different countries to Germany to help host families with childcare. In return, they receive pocket money and the opportunity to attend a German language course. Unfortunately, like many other host families, I soon found out for myself how difficult it is to find an affordable and flexible language course for au pairs in Germany.
That’s why I quickly set up my own German courses especially for au pairs and young adults under the name “Deutsch mit Johanna”.
My courses combine two of the most important aspects in my opinion: They are affordable for the au pairs and the host parents and they are maximally flexible in terms of time. Nevertheless, they are intensive and, with the right commitment, the next language level can be reached very quickly.
